Earliest records list a
President, an Executive Committee of about a
dozen members, an Honorary Treasurer, one or more Honorary Auditors and
an Honorary
Secretary.
The President presumably took
the chair at meetings of the Executive
Committee, since there is no record of a Chairman until 1935.
Since then an elected
Chairman has presided over
the Committee,
acting in the role of Chief Executive.
The
first
mention of
an Honorary Show Secretary (Joint Show Secretaries, in fact) appears in
the schedule for
the 1934 Summer Show, and other officials whose names are included in
subsequent schedules
are the Assistant General Secretary, Assistant Treasurer, Showground
Manager,
Subscription Officer and Trophy Officer. All these,
together with two representatives
from
each of six Sub Committees, form the Executive Committee as at present
constituted.
